Tab Shortcode: How do I link to link to a specific tab?

Overview

This article describes how to link to a specific tab when using the Tab Shortcodes within the Karma and Sterling WordPress themes.

Karma WordPress Theme

This functionality was introduced in Karma version 3.0.2

General Instructions:

  • Each Tab can be thought of as a number. Looking at the screenshot below, the “WordPress” tab is tab 3.
  • To link to a specific tab you’ll simply add ?tab=x to the end of your URL string.
    (where x = the tab number)

The URL to link to the “WordPress” tab below would like this:
http://your-site.com/any-page/?tab=3


Sterling WordPress Theme

This functionality was introduced in Sterling version 2.0.3

General Instructions:

  • You can link to a specific tab by adding the tab name to the end of your URL string.
  • To link to a specific tab you’ll simply add ?tab=your+tab+name to the end of your URL string.
    any spaces in the name should be replaced by a (+) sign
