Modifying your Theme’s CSS Code (font size, font face, etc)

This article describes details about how to properly modify the default code of your theme.

Before making code modifications to your theme we highly recommend to familiarize yourself with Child Themes and determine if using a Child Theme is the right solution for you.

Modifying your Theme:

Modifying your theme will requiring editing the code of your theme. This may include HTML, CSS, or PHP code. Most adjustments can be made changing only the CSS code.

We recommend first “inspecting” the theme to determine what code needs to be changed, and once confirmed, add your custom code and recoice! :)

  1. First Download the FireBug Plugin for Firefox. This plugin will allow you to inspect your theme’s code and have a closer look behind the scenes.
  2. Once the plugin is installed, open your web browser and visit your website that you wish to edit.
  3. Inspect the code of the side to determine which code needs to be modified in order to achieve your desired results.
  4. Add the required code to your theme / child theme, save and rejoice! :)
